I never really liked to sew but I did love my mom. :)

Wow...it has almost been 5 years. I haven't sewn in all that time, my dad has sewn more then I did. I had sewn a button onto a blouse today and all I can do was think about my mom and writing this entry. She also taught me how to do needlepoint, I like doing that becuase I get to work on different patterns in sewing you can't do that, my mom never really taught me how to do sewing patterns. I miss her so much.

Right before she died she wasn't doing too much sewing and/or needlepoint, she wasn't doing that much, she was too sick from chemotherepy to do anything except for watching television. About three weeks before my mom died she was tired all the time but she was unable to sleep. She went to the doctor and they said that she was severly anemic, her doctor decided to do a colonopscopy and discovered a tumor in her colon.

She was sent immediately to the hospital which was in Manhattan a pain in the neck to go to becuase I lived and worked in Queens so I was only able to visit her on the weekends. They operated and tried to take out the tumor but they couldn't becuase it was too liguidy, they took a catscan and saw that she had other types of cancer, one of them was ovarian. A little over a week later they gave her, her first dose of chemo, they thought she did well on it and sent her home, that was on a Tuesday.

The next day I stayed home with her, the roles were reversed I was like a parent taking care of her. Cleaning up after her when she got sick and getting her something to eat. It happened almost 5 years ago, but I still remember like it happened last year. The next day I went to work and I worked late, when I got home I was tired and wanted to go to sleep, I had to urge to say "I love you" to her, I don't know why,I never really said that really before except when I was playing with someone, but I said it. The next morning at about 3am my dad was yelling for my sister and I to come downstairs becuase we have to bring my mom to the hospital, the paramedics came and announced to us that she had died.

It was a shock and a relief to us: a shock becuase we didn't think she would die that quick and relief becuase she died quickly and didn't have to suffer much, so it was like a Catch 22, either way your screwed.

I would have dreams that my mom was alive back from the dead and free from cancer, the only thing that I kept on thinking in the dream was how to explain to people. I didn't like the show Pushing Daisies, becuase of the basis of the show that the main character touched a dead person and they became alive and then he would touch the person and they would die, it was too freaky to me. I mean why doe she have the power to determine when someone should live and when they should die. Bringing people back to life is freaky but your adding the aspect that he can make the person die again. That is just not right.

On Friday, August 1st will be the 5th anniversary of my mom's death, she will forever be missed. She was a great teacher, she helped me with my homework, helped me to study for my tests and also how to sew among other things.

A crowded Virgin flight was canceled after Virgin's 767s had been withdrawn from service. A single attendant was re booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, 'I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS'.

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: 'May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please,' she began - her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal.

'We have a passenger here at Desk 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Desk 14.'

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Virgin attendant, gritted his teeth and said, 'F... You!'

Without flinching, she smiled and said, (I love this bit)

'I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too.'

A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Fulton County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the Child Welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Atlanta Falcons, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
